Play Ball With Oceanside Valley

From Tee Ball to Juniors — every player finds their place to grow, learn, and have fun.

T-Ball/Farm Divisions - The A/Farm Division is open to players league age 5 to 6.

T-Ball and Farm are where baseball begins! Designed for young players just starting out, this division focuses on fun, teamwork, and learning the basics—throwing, catching, and hitting from a tee. As skills grow, coaches may introduce light coach pitching and simple plays. There’s no scorekeeping—just smiles, skill-building, and a great first baseball experience! Players will practice with their own team, and will play a game each week against a different team.

AA Divisions - The AA Division is open to players league age 6 to 8.

The purpose of the Double A division is to continue the development of the players, while introducing them to a larger size field.  Players will be introduced to pitching by pitching a partial game, while the coach pitches the other half of the game. Players will also be expected to learn how to play multiple positions on the field. Many basic baseball rules are in effect, although there is no scoring, no walks, no steals and a variety of other modifications designed to encourage development.

AAA Divisions -  Any player league age 9, 10, 11, and who attended a league tryout, is eligible to be drafted to the AAA division.
Note; Sometime appropriate  for age 8 based on assessment and Player Agent

The purpose of the Triple A division is to continue player development while introducing a competitive environment. Players will continue to learn the responsibilities of each position, while introducing pitching for an entire game from 40 feet, and base stealing while focusing on advancing skills to the next level.

Players are evaluated at tryouts and selected through a manager draft to produce a teams.  Most standard baseball rules are in place with exceptions such as no leadoffs and batting through the lineup regardless of defensive positions. AAA teams will be eligible for postseason invitational tournaments for example; first half division champion and a second half division champion that compete to play in the tournament of champions with other league winners in the district. Eligible players may be selected to an All-Star Team to compete against other leagues.

Majors Division- League Ages 11 and 12.
Note; Rarely appropriate for age 10 based on assessment and Player Agent

The purpose of the majors division is to continue player development in a highly competitive environment. This division focuses on refining baseball fundamentals pitching, catching, hitting, and base running — while introducing more advanced strategies and full gameplay rules such as stealing, leading off after the ball crosses the plate, and the infield fly rule.  Players will continue to learn situational awareness and more advanced skills and strategies.

Players must try out and be drafted on to Majors teams. Majors Baseball is "player-pitch" baseball and is highly competitive and is played on a field with 60 foot base paths and a pitcher’s mound that is 40 feet from home plate. Typically there is inter-league play with other leagues in District 70. Players in this division are also eligible for All-Star selection to compete at the district level.

Intermediate (50/70) Division - League Ages 12 and 13
Note; Rarely appropriate for age 11
based on assessment and Player Agent

Intermediate, also known as the 50/70 division, is designed for players transitioning from the smaller Majors field to the larger Juniors field. The pitching distance is 50 feet, and the bases are 70 feet apart. Unlike Majors, this division allows leadoffs, steals, balks, and most of the advanced baseball rules, providing players with an introduction to a more traditional style of baseball. Drafts are conducted in Spring, and teams often play inter-league games with other District 70 leagues. Players in this division are also eligible for All-Star selection to compete at the district level.

Juniors - League ages 13 and 14 Highest Level Division

Utilizes a 60-foot pitching distance and 90-foot base paths. Players will play on a regulation size baseball field and will continue to learn advanced situational awareness. As a competitive division, the primary goals of Juniors Baseball are to provide the players a suitable vehicle to take their game to the next level in preparation for most competitive arenas of Youth Baseball such as High School and Senior Little League. Typically there is inter-league play with other leagues in District 70 and the team with the best league record will have an opportunity to compete in a district tournament at the end of the season
